Information for clients (Tax agent / BAS services)

When you use our tax agent and/or BAS services, you have obligations to the ATO and we have professional obligations to you, the ATO and the Tax Practitioners Board (TPB).

Your key obligations: Provide complete and truthful information, keep required records, cooperate with our requests, meet relevant due dates, and comply with tax laws.

Our key obligations: Act honestly and with integrity, act lawfully in your best interests, manage conflicts, take reasonable care, keep your information confidential (unless legally required), provide services competently, and keep you informed so you can make informed decisions.

You can verify a tax or BAS agent’s registration on the TPB public register.

Complaints

You can make a complaint to the TPB using its online complaint form; the TPB assesses all complaints/referrals.
